This article analyzes scientific articles in Physical Education journals that address Afro-Brazilian Culture. Our research focused on 2001-2017 and found 8 (eight) journals in the area, cataloguing 92 articles. The data indicate that articles focus on two themes: Capoeira and Racism in football. We conclude that although Afro-Brazilian Culture is very rich, its influence on knowledge production in the area has to be increased to provide the stage for research that deepens its theoretical framework, especially in a country still racist like Brazil, in order to contribute to valuing that culture, especially in terms of its role in building social equality.
