Salutogenesis is a health promotion theory that expands epistemological conceptions in the field of health. We mapped studies that address this theory in the field of Physical Education (PE). We followed PRISMA guidelines for scoping reviews. Nine databases were consulted and, of 2,745 titles, 66 were included. The chart included characteristics of the studies, the population, the uses of salutogenesis, and its relationships with PE. Original and quantitative articles comprised the majority. Various contexts and life cycles were observed. The sense of coherence model was mostly mobilized. The sociocultural context is minimally addressed. The data were summarized thematically and can guide researchers and PE teachers, given that salutogenesis is a fruitful theory and needs further exploration in the field of PE to overcome biomedical hegemony.Downloads
