Abstract

During Franco’s dictatorship (1939-1975), Physical Education and female sports were defined as instruments for conveying the female ideal. The main objective of this paper is to know if those activities became ways of transgressing the female model imposed. The investigation used primary sources and relevant secondary sources. The findings show that Physical Education and female sports were ways of transgressing the female model imposed, but they did not oppose that model directly.
