Abstract

Serious games emerge as innovative resources for health professionals and caregivers of elderly people with Alzheimer's disease. The aim of the study was to report the development of a serious game for the continuing education of these professionals, using playful approaches to improve care capacity and decision-making. The development of the game involved a Game Dev Document, creating characters with MetaHuman from Unreal Engine, scene art with the MidJourney AI, free sounds, and programming with the Renpy engine. The incorporation of these games into the health services can disseminate effective information and training. The combination of playful and educational elements should be prioritized in health policies, especially with the growth of the elderly population and the increase in neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, significantly impacting the quality of life of elderly people.
