An analysis citation study of the electronic Arquivistica.Net journal. The study covers articles published between 2005/1 and 2007/1. The results show an emphasis on individual authorship, that books are the main sources of information, that Portuguese is the favorite language and that most authors are from Brazil. The average period of time of quoted literature is recent, between four and five years. Luís Carlos Lopes and José Maria Jardim are the most commonly quoted Brazilian authors and Armando B. Malheiros da Silva, Jean-Yves Rousseau and Carol Couture are the most commonly quoted international authors. These results show weaknesses in the researches on Archivology in Brazil and require reflections. Consequently, a greater development is needed in the legitimate structures of knowledge production, such as universities, research institutes, evaluation authorities and scientific societies.Downloads
