Keywords:
Information Science, State of art, Scientific publications, Feminine genderAbstract
This work intends to produce a review of researches focusing in Gender Studies made by many research branches on Information Science in Brazil and in the world. It tries to associate articles published in scientific production of Brazilian and foreign authors, indexed in Capes database, and also works presented in Enancibs, from 2000 to 2007. It is perceived that very few authors wrote about this subject, though all information studies has implications in gender relations and vice-versa. Overall there were 18 articles published by foreign authors in 14 international magazines, 6 articles published in 5 national magazines and 4 articles published in 5 editions of Enancib. All articles analyzed had as their common factor the conclusion about the need of sciences, including the information one, to invest in studies and publications that can detect the gender dissimilarities, searching alternatives to change this picture.
