Media coverage on the violence against women among Cabo Verde´s newspapers

Presents some of the main results of a research carried out in 2011 to analyse the presentation that the most important newspapers in Cabo Verde give to the violence against women in the first decade of this century. To start with, the article analyses gender violence in the context of that country. Next, it presents some data obtained through the analysis of the articles produced by the three most important nationwide newspapers - A Semana, Expresso das Ilhas and A Nação. Eventually, it studies the coverage offered by the Cabo Verde´s press to such grave social problem.Downloads
