Readers’ formation and discourses about reading

This article discusses the various meanings of the term “reading” according to distinct situations in which it is applied, seeking to understand its use in reading pedagogy and in projects of readers’ formation. Therefore, it analyses the discourse of authors and writers about reading in theoretical and literary texts, as well as definitions established in dictionaries of Portuguese, concluding that, despite the term’s polysemy, it is important that researchers, teachers and librarians understand the concept they adopt when they use the term in their projects and researches.Downloads
