An analysis of the institute of safety measure as criminal sanction applied to the psychopath

Based on the assumption that the category "psychopath" is not always receiving due attention, either on the theoretical level or at the practical or legislative level, it is the purpose of this study to analyze psychopathy and their characteristics and to understand the extent to which the security measure achieves its purpose as a criminal sanction against the psychopath. The work starts from the use of a dialectical method to delve into the phenomenon addressed and to the solution of the problem question. Also, bibliographic research is used as a mechanism to facilitate, also, the solution of the question that guided the elaboration of this research. What has not failed to emphasize also, the lack of specific law that regulates the situation of the psychopath, which ends up becoming a problem directed at the Judiciary and the Doctrine itself.
