Abstract

This text was written by the Italian director, based in Denmark, Eugenio Barba, as an introduction to the latest recent spectacle of his theatre company, Odin Teatret. He discusses the role of theatre spectacles and the problem of communication and decoding of spectacles as living experience. The director presents his aesthetic intentions and expectations regarding the spectacle’s reception.
