The article emphasizes the significance of attentive listening to the sounds and subtleties in order to comprehend the richness of the “Reinado” of Our Lady of the Rosary in Divinópolis, Minas Gerais. In this regard, the article proposes a discussion on the sound atmosphere combined with the Bantu philosophy notion of Vital Force. The author's experience as a member of Terno de Moçambique in the Interlagos neighborhood inspired the direction of this writing. The festivity sounds are presented as poetic elements that echo and shape Reinado's history, providing community resistance that moves the culture and memory of Afro-descendant peoples in the Center-West of Minas Gerais.
