RESIGNIFYING DRIVING
ALTERNATIVE PROPOSALS FOR COMMUNICATION IN BALLROOM DANCES
Keywords:
Ballroom dances, Pedagogy, State of art, Communication, Counter-conductAbstract
Originating from an investigation in the field of dance pedagogy, the article starts from a mapping of contemporary scientific research on ballroom dancing that problematizes the actions of leading and letting oneself be led, with a view to promoting theoretical dialogue with researchers who defend the practice and the teaching of traditional ballroom dances, in order to overcome the gender binarisms characteristic of this sociocultural manifestation. The guiding idea of the text is that the qualified debate on dance pedagogies, especially in relation to the categories of gender and sexuality, contribute to the transformation of the ballroom dancing environment into a more accessible and plural place.
