The symbolic-mythical dimension of journalism beyond the objectivity/ subjectivity dicotomy

The article discusses the urgency of new epistemological viewpoints to study the symbolic-mythical dimension of journalism that make it possible to go beyond the objectivitysubjectivity dichotomy. It presents the hegemonic and counterhegemonic paradigms in the field, pointing out limitations and strengths. It also proposes a dialogue with the theories of the imaginary as an alternative to investigate the mythical manifestations in the news.Downloads
