A construção do campo do jornalismo em uma perspectiva histórica
Keywords:
Journalism History. Theories of Journalism. History of Brazil.Abstract
The objective of this article is to consider how the field of journalism has gotten autonomy in a historical trajectory. Our main object of research is the journalist, its practices and representations of its work. For this approach, we developed a study of two newspapers published in the State of Sergipe, Brazil, in 1911. We intended to discover that the constitution of the field of journalism was a process occurred in a discursive form lead by journalists in an effort of producing a public affirmation of principles, rules and values of journalism, as well as a struggle by position in the field. This act of making a public debate in the newspapers about the principles that would guide the activity was one of the strategies in order to construct the legitimacy of the journalism in society.Downloads
