Abstract

The social isolation, a measure privileged by most countries in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic, has reconfigured, even temporarily, our relationship with the street. Walking together, an emblem of collective resistance, gave way to other forms of political making. I performed this ethnographic experience within a kilometer of my residence. The pleasure of the lost steps was banned from March 23 until May 11, 2020, and could cost 135 euros. Avoiding encounters and walking in the same streets during the confinement, I followed the interventions of someone I never met. These phrases resume and contest Emmanuel Macron’s speeches from the beginning of the health urgency declared in France.
