EGRESSOS DO SISTEMA PENITENCIÁRIO: UM ESTUDO SOBRE O ACESSO AOS DIREITOS SOCIAIS, COM ÊNFASE EM EDUCAÇÃO E TRABALHO

Abstract

This article presents data from research conducted as part of a dissertation in management and regional development. The goal is to identify the reality of access for former prisoners to education and work as social rights. The research is exploratory with quantitative and qualitative strategies. The results showed the profile of young graduates with little qualification and with incomplete secondary education. After been in prison, the prisoners faced difficulties in finding a job because of their criminal background. This study concludes that there is need for more investments in education and work in order to accumulate human capital for these graduates to access the formal labor market after been in prison.
