Abstract

This article seeks, from the experience report, to discuss the importance of the model of intensification of care for serious cases in mental health. The report gives us the opportunity to look at the complexity of practice in the field of mental health, identifying potentialities and challenges of care in freedom. As a result, it is possible to observe the power of the care intensification work, a practice in line with the principles of the Psychiatric Reform. Faced with the obstacles, we suggest continuing training for the substitute service teams, guided by the guidelines of the SUS and the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform, in addition to pointing out the need to strengthen the mental health policy through critical practice, as opposed to the asylum logic, still present in the territorial health services.

Paloma Raianna Antonio da Silva, UFRB

Graduated in Psychology from the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (2019). He has a specialization in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy at the Centro Universitário União das Américas Descomplica (UNIAMÉRICA). He currently works as a clinical psychologist. She has been a member of the Suicide Prevention and Postvention Study Group (GEPPS-SAJ) since 2021 and took on the role of deputy coordinator in 2022.

Rafael Coelho Rodrigues, UFRB

Psychologist. Adjunct Professor at the Health Sciences Center - Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia - UFRB. Professor of the Psychology Course, of the Graduate Program in Psychology and Preceptor of the Internship in Mental Health of the Medicine course/UFRB. Postdoctoral degree in Psychology from the Fluminense Federal University/UFF. PhD in Psychology/UFF. Master in Psychology - Fluminense Federal University. Author of the books: The Penal State and the Society of Control: The Legal Police Station Program as an Analysis Device (ed. Revan, 2009) and Youth as capital (ed. Juruá, 2014). Researcher at the Production of Subjectivity and Power Strategy Research Group in the field of childhood and youth (UERJ/UFF) and at the Health, Organizations and Work Research Group (SORT/UFRB). It is part of the Regional Reference Center for Permanent Education on Crack, Alcohol and Other Drugs (CRR/UFRB).
