This study examines the initial and ongoing education of people working in physical activity and sport inSpain. The methodology used was a survey in which 2,500 people working in these areas were interviewed in all Spanish provinces. It found that 38% of them have no degree in physical activity and sport – initial education. In addition, many people who do hold degrees actually perform job functions for which they have not studied or are not trained. Those people also undergo strong continuous education, which increases according to their level of initial education. Furthermore, most of those holding degrees in physical activity and sport consider that their initial education has been very helpful for professional performance.
