The sportives projects for children and youngsters of the popular layers have multiplied in Brazil on the last decades. The projects objectives are, by procedure, oriented by the perspective of the social inclusion and of opening other paths rather than those offered by the "street". The present study, based on researches already made about aspects of the participation of children and youngsters from popular layers in sports -- taking as main empirical field the Social Inclusion Project (PIS), located at Cidade de Deus, Rio de Janeiro -- proposes to analise and discuss the value of the administrative data of the programs to give accontability of relevant problems such as the ones of membership aplication and high turnover which can affect them. It is to, therefore, from an experience , reflect and show ways to refine the gathered data with the intention of accompaning and evaluating the programs. We emphasize that the experience counted with a signifcant empirical base under the quantitative and temporal point of view: 6932 aplication forms, refering to 5642 students of both genders on ages from 5 to 24 years, registered in the project during the period from 1998 to 2003. Along the analisys, we will think the efficience of the programs in connection with the degree of agreement developed between the institutional proposals and the expectation of the participants who, in general, are conected to the local racionalities.Downloads
