Abstract

This study sought to determine the importance of the participation of women in the game of skittles in Boiro, a fact that allows us to understand this phenomenon in this part of Galicia (Spain), the only municipality in the province of A Coruña where the game continues. In this qualitative study, with a descriptive and interpretative form, that uses the personal interview as a tool to obtain informacion, it was found the absence of practice of women in the game of skittles of Boiro, which adopted a passive role more conditioned by the historical barriers against women and the role that society had reserved that by their physical skills.
