This research aimed to understand how playing is approached in Physical Education, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy undergraduate courses at UFMG. Bibliographic and document research was conducted. In Physical Education, playing is seen as human language and based on its contributions to human development, learning and sports training. In Physiotherapy there is therapeutic bias, strictly focused on rehabilitation, and playing is only a tool used a few times. Occupational therapy sees play as an activity, as human occupation, as well as a medical/therapeutic medium.
