Abstract

Martin Buber introduced in philosophy the subject of dialogue. For him, neither “I”, nor “You” are in the beginning of everything; in the principle is simply the relation. Relation is the space “between”, it is the ordinary atmosphere, something that ties people in a social interaction. And when they dialogue, the participants must carry out an authentic immersion, become fluid in the scene, in the relation, in the exchange, in the instant. And it is equally instantaneous the relation that men have with the works of culture. A work of art, for example, only becomes in fact workmanship with the action of a man, who carries it out, who gives it an “effective power”. It depends on us to carry out things or not. We can see the world, the other, the workmanships as “This”, as something that we try to know, to dominate, to understand; but we can see them, also, as “You”, if we leave apart the search for knowledge and devote ourselves to the relation. Only acting this way we can let communication happen.
