Abstract

Investigates the reasons that lead the researchers to develop research in science and technology and what are the criteria used to determine the division and partnerships and co-authoring coinvenção. The approach is quantitative, the type of bibliometric study and is used as an instrument of data collection a questionnaire with open and closed questions, sent by e-mail to the researchers. The subjects of this study constitute the researchers who have both patent applications and published articles in the field of Biotechnology. 1049 questionnaires were sent out and 119 responses were obtained, and of these 58 were analyzed by researchers who have both represent articles as patents in its production, during the period from 2001 to 2010. There were differences in the criteria used in the fields. For articles, criteria such as training, interdisciplinary academic subject and bonding are important. For patents, the interdisciplinary subject and the technological link featured prominently.
