Pages of culture, resistance and submission: books that is in Visão magazine
Keywords:
Brazilian editorial market, Censure to booksAbstract
This article focuses on the way Visão magazine, a publication that built a leftist “signature” along its trajectory, counting on a group of journalists and contributors identified with leftist political postures, organized a section about book reviews during the force of AI-5. The analysis of this material (particularly the reviews from 1973, period in which Vladimir Herzog coordinated the group of journalists) shows how the defense of freedom in the cultural production and the criticism to the mass culture was present on the pages of the magazine that presented a conflicting vision with the one intended by the system.Downloads
