Archivist person and his identity constitution
Influences on representation and information mediating activities

This research aimed to demonstrate whether the information mediation act carried out by archivists reveals the bias of identity constitution and representativeness. Qualitative in nature, descriptive in nature, it sought professionals linked to the Associação dos Arquivistas da Bahia and the Associação dos Arquivistas da Paraíba. The questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument and applied via email. As results, the perceptions of archivists about their conduct were interpreted, which is representative, and of the 19 archivists, nine participants in this research stated negatively and ten indicated that there is some experience or report from users who felt represented by some of their identity traits (gender, color, race, geographic space). It is concluded that the mediating action, when carried out consciously, is based on a stance that is not disconnected from the life of the archivist, in which his interference reflects the representative traits in his mediating act, recognizing the similarities and differences within of the collective that integrates
