News of a private documentary. The meanings of real in a brazilian documentary
Keywords:
Real, Documentary, BrazilianAbstract
This paper presents a discussion and analysis about the construction of the meanings of real in the 1999 Brazilian documentary News from a Private War (Notícias de uma guerra particular), directed by João Moreira Salles and Kátia Lund. To deal with such project, I bring a theoretical framework that articulates the journalistic and documentary fields, and I search for reference in image/cinema theories. The methodological scheme used for the proposed analysis is the French Discourse Analysis. This small research works on two main axes of meanings: the real of the registration and the real of the registered. The axes are on the discursive formations that guide the analysis presented here, and also serve as hypotheses for the research problem.Downloads
