This article aims to discuss the current scenario of Traditional Circus in the state of Rio de Janeiro, based on the tactics and improvisations found by its artists as a form of survival and resistance. The main analytical tools used in the investigation are information collected at meetings of the artistic community, interviews, press materials and bibliographical sources. In this way, the central purpose of this work is to investigate the Traditional Circus that operates in the state of Rio de Janeiro, outlining and discussing its practices.
