Abstract

The present paper attempts to compare the role of concept in classical and contemporary theatre. It is argued that after performing a representational function, concept has shifted to the theoretical output that underpins contemporary stage productions, previously and subsequently. Finally, by accepting that both language and concept are human dimensions too, we propose a point of view in which academic theoretical production is regarded as event and aesthetic experience.
