Resumo

In what ways might the evolution in the presence of voice – or its gaps – in the Brazilian Journal on Presence Studies reflect the development of the field of voice studies in the Performing Arts in Brazil? Guided by this question, the present article proposes a mapping of approximately 30 original research articles published throughout the trajectory of the journal, which address themes related to voice, singing, and orality. The study shows that, although there is a diversity of approaches – technical, aesthetic, pedagogical, and historical – this body of work suggests a field still in the process of consolidation and definition, with significant space for further development and expansion of research.
