Abstract

The article brings out the principie conceptions that influenced the debates about the definition of clearer objecti ves for high school teaching in Brazil during the elaboration period of the nev LDB. Besides this, it emphasizes the main determinations that brought about the increase of high school courses at night during the last few years. Last of ali, it offers subsidies for an interpretation of the high drop-out leveis in high school courses at night, based on the structural relations between education and production.
