Environmental Education and its Urgencies: the necessary formation of a planetary ethics
Keywords:
Environmental Education. Environmental Crisis. Barbarism. Care.Abstract
This article intends to contribute with a discourse dear to the present times: the urgency of environmental issues. We seek support in globally recognized authors who discuss those dramas lived daily by us. We also seek to show how the theme of an environmental crisis has entered the current agenda of our society, mostly by the media, quite often supporting a policy of fear. We emphasize the discussion of an ethics of planetary care, assuming care as an ontological category able to reconnect us with the Earth. In face of the policy of fear, based on guilt and terror, Education is responsible for the agency of a praxis that favors a sense of collectivity and political action, countering the contemporary individualism.Downloads
