Abstract

This article presents the results of an investigation conducted in 2012. It analyzes the ways in which the school apparatus is (re)organized in primary level schools implementing a program of school day extension in the province of Río Negro, Argentina. The case study conducted warns that these experiences of school day extension are an opportunity to try some changes in the traditional school format, enabling other ways of teaching and learning. These initial experiences are threatened by the strength of the school apparatus, which tends to make the configuration of a better school time difficult.
