Between Tradition and Innovation: history of a Jesuit institution concerning education (Unisinos - 1953-2016)

Historicizing an educational institution implies to understand, over all, the historical circumstances and the relations established with the community in the process of its constitution. This paper seeks to address aspects related to the conceptions of tradition and innovation as two approaches that are articulated to the precepts of a Jesuit institution, which reinvents itself by means of the education/research/outreach tripod. Such reinvention brought up in this article is based on the historicity of the institution and the Pedagogy Course, which allows the problematizations of continuities, discontinuities and ruptures.Downloads
