Abstract

This article discusses the results of a qualitative research on the relationship between youth and mediatization in the contemporary culture with three groups of secondary education students. Data was collected by means of participatory observation and 333 questionnaires, 28 interviews and three discussion groups. It started with the assumption that the huge amount of technologies that are blended to people’s lives, in general, has a singular effect on the youth life. The results indicated that the youth experienced extensive and heterogeneous mediatic connections, pervading their time and space, their affective and communicative links, and their school experiences in several ways, according to the situation observed.
