MEANING AND SIGNIFICANCE OF THE CEMUPE COLLECTIONS (CENTRO MUSEO PEDAGÓGICO DE LA UNIVERSIDAD DE SALAMANCA)
Abstract
The University of Salamanca created CeMuPe (Centro Museo Pedagógico) in 2010. Its objectives are in line with the aims of pedagogical museumism: to preserve and house the historical, tangible and intangible educational heritage, to be studied scientifically. The principles of action include the conservation of the legacy heritage, the recovery of memory, the interpretation of educational history, research into the history of education, collaboration with other museum or university institutions and the projection of knowledge to society. This study shows the reflections drawn from the visits made to the different collections housed in the CeMuPe by teachers, students and the general public. Among the responses are those who consider that the fact of storing antique objects allows history to continue to exist through the years and even go so far as to express that the present cannot be understood without looking at the past.
