Abstract

This paper discusses the importance of producing proto-bioclimatic buildings in the work of prominent architects from the modernism movement in Argentina. Three outstanding examples were selected and these were evaluated using equipment from LAMbDA (Models and Environmental Design Laboratory) and UI 2-IDEHAB (Habitat Research Institute). Solar access, day-lighting and ventilation were investigated, according to the case, and also the thermal conditions based on a stationary thermal balance. The results and conclusions are concerned with the importance and error degree of this kind of production, based on intuition and general design principles.
