Memory, sffection and tesistance: denses of the Sociedade Kênia Clube for the people who attend it

This article analyzes the meanings that members of Sociedade Kênia Clube (SKC) produce about the
relationships they establish with this association. SKC is one of the black social clubs in Brazil that have been
established as spaces for sociability, leisure, entertainment, education and preservation of the culture of black
populations. Conversations with members of the club produced information used to make up the discussions
here present. The analysis categories are: SKC as home and belonging experiences; SKC as a place for producing
bonds; and, finally, SKC as a place of resistance. As a conclusion, it is evident that the activities promoted
by SKC produce affective experiences, actions of resistance and social production of memory in the city.
