The foundation of Regatta Bosom Almirante Tamandaré threatened the hegemony of rowing associations with German-Brazilian cultural identities, inPorto Alegre. This association was founded by Luso-Brazilians, who sought to build new identity representations around this sport practice, changing the scene of rowing in the city. Regatta Bosom Almirante Tamandaré started a new phase for sports inPorto Alegre. Besides more space in the press, consolidated, in the sports scene in Porto Alegre, an association that approached a Brazilian cultural identity. This action favored identity disputes on the set of associations of rowing.
