This work presents a study developed about a group of subjects participating in a module of Back School offered at EsEF/UFRGS. The goal of the study was to learn about the self-perception of the participants in relation to the proposed theoretical and practical activities. The study is related to ten subjects, and the data were collected through semi-structured interviews, descriptive memoirs and field notes. The theoretical presentation about the bone-joint structure made the participants more interested in their own observation during daily life activities. The exercises (stretching, mobilization and body perception) allowed the participants to perceive about their own limitations and lead them to work towards the enrichment of their moving capacities. The playful activities were considered relevant to the group integration. The relaxing exercises were always referred to as a moment of well-being. In summary, the combination of theoretical explanations and praticai activities showed to be of benefit to the participants towards their self-awareness.Downloads
