Abstract

This article is about online school in the pandemic. Based on the results of the research “Children and digital screens in the context of isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic: performed articulations” where the cartographic methodology was carried out through questionnaires and interviews with guardians and children up to 11 years old. Based on Actor-Network Theory we ask: What did the pandemic do about the school? Masschelein and Simons' arguments, in defending the school as a place of suspension in relation to society and family and creating a time and space to learn, help in the reflection. The conclusion points to: Impossibility of conceiving the online school as a transposition of the presential to the screen; Presence of a normative power of children who reinvented themselves and the school; Role of the school in relation to the families in the organization of time and care; Importance of complementing the work in the light of teachers' experience.
