The preparation of contents for Distance Education is an important and critical factor in supporting the teaching-learning process. The effort and cost associated with the development of these contents justify characteristics that enable its reuse, potentially improving the means for the creation of learning scenarios. Quality in the development of contents can be obtained by following different cognitive theories, like the Cognitive Flexibility Theory, and by adopting Information Architecture principles that guide the organization of contents in hypermedia. The application of these principles and theories must be possible when following standards for interoperable contents. The pretension of this work is to check the capacity of SCORM in the development of Learning Objects considering the principle and directives from the Cognitive Flexibility Theory and from Information Architecture.Downloads
