Notes on the concept of “transposition” and its implications for studies of on-line newspaper reading
Keywords:
Transposition. Digital journalism. Reading.Abstract
This paper discusses the concept of “transposition”, common in the literature on news mediation, especially the latest, consisting of digital technologies. Based on literature review, there is a relative abundance of work on modes of news production and the scarcity of studies that effectively investigate the reader and reading. The conclusion is that the concept of transposition appears to be inadequate in relation to the reader’s experience in dealing with media and texts, new or traditional.Downloads
