Beyond good business: cultural public polices to become good ancestors
Keywords:
Public policy. Cultural funding. Social responsibility. Meritocracy.Abstract
This work is part of a dissertation defended in the Graduate Program in Information Science from Universidade Federal de Pernambuco. The article discusses different approaches to public policies that encourage culture, as well as the role of the State and society for the development of projects for acting towards a greater collective consciousness regarding social and cultural responsibilities. We observe the logic of financing institutions of culture and the necessary action and intervention if the government. The financing of culture, however, should not be dissociated from the analysis of cultural policies and the responsibility of federal, state and municipal levels, even though there are partnerships with private institutions. We also examine dichotomous notions of meritocracy.Downloads
