Abstract

The following text is proposed to make a brief analysis of the work The Ballad of Sexual Dependency, from the american photographer Nan Goldin and Caixa de Sapatos, from the brazilian collective Cia de Foto. How do these artists use photography to appropriate the everyday and which aesthetic and political implications come from these appropriations? The research aims to contribute to recent discussions on the relationship between subjectivity and contemporary photography.

Omar Gonçalves Dos Reis Filho, Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC)

Osmar Gonçalves é doutor em Comunicação pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), com bolsa-sanduíche na Bauhaus Universität-Weimar (Alemanha), financiada pelo DAAD/CAPES. Pesquisador e fotógrafo, possui graduação (2001) e mestrado (2003) pela Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas da UFMG. Atualmente é Professor do Programa de Pós-graduação em Comunicação e do Curso de Cinema e Audiovisual da Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC), concentrado principalmente nas áreas de fotografia, teoria da imagem, semiótica e estética do audiovisual.

Larissa Souza Vasconcelos, Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC)

Mestranda em Comunicação pela Universidade Federal do Ceará. Participa do Programa de Pesquisa em Artes Visuais do Centro de Artes Visuais de Fortaleza na categoria de Crítica e Curadoria, onde pesquisa as relações entre corpo, arte e intimidade.
