Situations that involve information sharing by computer system

Abstract

The present study analyzed situations of information sharing performed by a computer-based information system. The system in study, although having operation for some years, has not achieved the expected levels of use. Thus, one research focus has the use of the system as a tool for information sharing. The method used was case study and data collection was conducted through questionnaires and interviews. The results show that the system is considered an important tool for information sharing. However, some difficulties exist that compromise the use and the quality of the informacional content in deposited it. There was also incoherence in the opinion of the searcheds, for despite the great majority of the participantsconsider that the information are safe in the system, but still there is the need for materialization of the information by paper, which demonstrates a culture that encourages attachment to the physical document and acts face and have no work to foster the use of electronic documents and distance acts.
