The representation of the death in the covers of weekly magazines Veja and Istoé

Using, mainly, the concepts of Social Discourse Theory, this paper investigates the representation of death in the cover of weekly magazines Veja and IstoÉ, in the period from July 2004 to July 2005. Considering covers as privileged space of meaning process, we analyze the discursive strategies used by the magazines in the constitution of the subject death, basic theme to humankind.Downloads
