Popular journalism. Newsmaking. Brazil.Abstract
The text analyzes the Special Edition of the newspaper Diário Gaúcho about the invasion of manager Sílvio Santos’ residence for a kidnapper, in August of 2001. Leaving of the definition of the popular journalism as a market strategy of the Brazilian vehicles in the decade of 90, the work concludes that the form as the journalists builds the image of their audiences defines the media reconstruction of the events. Besides the news values, the journalistic practices also interfere in the way as the news are presented and, consequently, in the frame of the reality supplied to the public.Downloads
