This article describes research conducted at Goiânia’s CAPS to examine the core features of the professional intervention in Physical Education. The research was conducted through participant observation of Physical Education teachers working at CAPS as well as experience accounts by three professionals who have been working at that institution for at least a year. They were collected as semi-structured interviews. The results indicate that there are approximations of the work developed by Physical Education teachers with CAPS’s principles and that despite relevant advances, professionals are still learning to deal with the new challenges.
