Author Guidelines

The Journal publishes only unpublished articles (they cannot have been published in magazines, events, blogs, social networks, books, book chapters or any other scientific or non-scientific medium). Articles submitted to REDPPC cannot be submitted to other journals concomitantly

Articles are accepted from doctoral and doctoral candidates, preferably those linked to a Postgraduate Program in Law or related areas. Submissions from Master's and Master's students will be evaluated as long as they are co-authored with a Doctor, and a maximum of three authors.

The authors must indicate their respective Orcid in the appropriate field of the platform.

Submissions must be made directly through the system, in Word format (*.doc or *.docx).

1. Textual elements of scientific articles

a. The file should not contain information regarding the author's name or qualification, since this information should be entered in a proper field, in the system, when submitting the article.

b. The papers should preferably be between 15 and 30 pages long.

c. Top, bottom and side margins should be set at 2.0 cm and paper size should be A4.

d. Paragraphs should be justified, without the use of tabs at the beginning of paragraphs, without indentations or spacing before or after, with 1.5 line spacing.

e. Times New Roman font, size 12, should be used.

f. Papers can be written in Portuguese, Spanish, English or German.

g. The title of the paper should not be excessively long (maximum 150 characters with spaces), and should be consistent with the theme of the paper. The title must be in the original language of the article and in English.

h. The article must contain an abstract (of up to 200 words), in the original language of the article and in English, and up to five keywords. The abstract must describe the objective of the article, the problem investigated, the methodology used and the main conclusions.

i. The author must inform in a footnote in the file, as well as directly in the system in the appropriate field, any support, financing or benefit received for the production of the work, and declare that there is no conflict of interest that would compromise the scientificity of the work presented. If the work is the result of research funded by a funding agency, this information must be indicated in a footnote, specifying the funding edict.

j. The titles and subtitles of the internal divisions of the article should be numbered in Arabic and highlighted in bold. The numbering of the items in Roman numerals is forbidden.

k. Bibliographical references throughout the text must use the footnote format.

l. Any emphasis to be given to the text must be done with the use of boldface (underlining will not be admitted under any circumstances; italics are reserved for expressions in foreign languages).

m. All quotations of up to 3 lines must be indicated in the body of the text by the use of "quotation marks" followed by the indication of the source in a footnote. When the direct quotation exceeds 3 lines, the text must be indented by 4 centimeters.

n. Legislative or jurisprudential references must contain all the necessary data for their adequate identification and location. In citations of internet sites, the link and date of access must be indicated.

o. The consulted bibliography should be referenced at the end of the paper, contain only the texts cited in the article and follow NBR 6023/2002 (Brazilian Standard of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards - ABNT - Annex I), the alignment should be on the left side, single spaced, in alphabetical order and without the use of indent to indicate works by the same author. *After the amendment of NBR 6023 in 2018, < > is no longer used for internet links.

2. Scientific and originality

Articles should be scientific in nature, defining and clarifying one (or more) specific problem(s), summarizing previous studies on the topic, and informing readers of the state of play in a given area of research. In addition, the paper should seek to identify relationships, contradictions, gaps and inconsistencies in the literature and indicate suggestions for resolving the problems identified.

Therefore, articles will be published that present an original and effective contribution to the criminal sciences, based on a solid doctrinal review and/or original empirical research. Thus, the work must be a reliable source for the reader to know the current state of the criminal sciences in relation to the theme in question.

The submitted papers must be unpublished (never published/unpublished) and must not be under evaluation by any other journal. Texts: published on the internet; already published abroad (even if in another language); published in annals of scientific events are not considered unpublished. Papers that, although previously published in scientific proceedings, have been effectively improved as a result of further discussion and study (please identify such changes to the editorial team in the submission e-mail), will be considered unpublished.

3. Approval by an Ethics Committee

When the work uses data obtained through unpublished empirical research involving human beings (such as, for example, interviews or questionnaires), the project must be analyzed by the Ethics Committee of the Higher Education Institution to which the author is affiliated.
This information should be indicated in the body of the paper or in a footnote, identifying the ethics committee, the institution and the number of the process in which the project was approved.

4. Reviews and jurisprudential comments

Book reviews of legal and scientific interest for the journal's editorial line will be published. The length of the text must respect the limits and requirements of the information necessary for a good understanding of the analyzed text.

Jurisprudential comments may be sent to the journal and will be published, respecting the above rules, with the page limit reduced to 20 pages.

The journal reserves the right to make normative, orthographic, and grammatical alterations to the originals in order to maintain the cultured standard of the language, respecting, however, the style of the authors.
