Abstract
Title: Interdisciplinarity and criminological Study of homophobic violence: tensions between Criminology and Queer TheoryResumo: O objetivo principal desta pesquisa consistiu na análise da forma pela qual a teoria queer, enquanto teoria social contemporânea, pode se relacionar com a criminologia num contexto interdisciplinar, de modo a melhor compreender a violência homofóbica brasileira.

Abstract: The main objective of this research was to study in which way the queer theory, while contemporary social theory, can relate to criminology in an interdisciplinary context, to answer theoric and structural questions about the Brazilian homophobic violence. The methodology of this work consisted in stages, focusing on secondary literature sources (books, articles, journals, magazines, among others) and documentary (laws, precedents, case law, among other legal sources). There was therefore a conclusion towards a queer criminology, originated from an interdisciplinary dialogue between queer theory and criminology, in order to break the boundaries of the criminological thinking and subvert the construction of hegemonic masculinity and its forms of production of homophobic violence, also emphasizing, in the field of criminology, the practical and theoretical experiences of queer community.
Keywords: Criminology, Queer Theory, Interdisciplinarity, LGBT.
